Open House at the Sri Lanka National Archives

Welcome to the National Archives Open House Program!

Step into the heart of Sri Lanka’s history at the National Archives, where every corner tells a story. We are delighted to invite you to our Open House a unique opportunity to explore the rich heritage preserved within our walls. Immerse yourself in the captivating journey through time, discover treasured documents, and witness how history shapes our present and future.

Who Can Join?

This program is open to all interested individuals.

Groups are also welcome (students, undergraduates, government workers, etc) with a maximum of 12–15 participants per session

Language: All explanations will be provided in Sinhala.

What to Expect:

Participants will observe the internal operations of the National Archives, including the Records Management and Acquisitions Division, Conservation Division, Audio Visual Division, Repository, Public Relations Division, Map Division, and Research Room.

Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes

When: Every second Friday and last Friday of the month

            9.30 A.M - 12.00 P.M or 1.00 P.M - 3.30 P.M
